Aug. 17 (UPI) — Clayton Kershaw allowed just one run in five innings while Miguel Rojas and Chris Taylor hit home runs, leading the Los Angeles Dodgers to their 10th consecutive victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.

In their 7-1 win at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, Kershaw gave up only three hits. Mookie Betts and Will Smith contributed with three hits each.

“Everybody is performing at their best and taking responsibility,” said Rojas in an interview. “We are playing exceptional baseball and enjoying every moment. We support each other, and the contributions come from different individuals every night.”

The Dodgers have triumphed in 14 of their last 15 games, including two series sweeps and five consecutive series victories.

Kershaw began the game by striking out the first three Brewers batters. The Dodgers took an early lead with a run in the first inning on an RBI ground out from second baseman Amed Rosario.

The Brewers tied the game in the second inning with a solo home run from designated hitter Mark Canha. However, they failed to score for the remainder of the game.

Rojas hit his third home run of the season in the bottom of the second, a solo shot to left field. The Dodgers extended their lead to 3-1 later in the inning due to a catcher interference. Smith’s sacrifice fly RBI in the fourth inning gave the Dodgers a 4-1 lead.

In the sixth inning, a fielding error allowed the Dodgers to increase their lead to four runs. Smith then brought in Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman with an RBI single, giving the Dodgers a comfortable 6-1 lead.

In the bottom of the seventh, Taylor sealed the victory with a 397-foot solo home run to center field.

With their current record of 73-46, the Dodgers are positioned as the first-place team in the National League West, with a 10-game lead over the second-place San Francisco Giants (64-57). They are on track to secure the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye in the National League playoffs.

The series finale between the Dodgers and the Brewers will take place at 10:10 p.m. EDT on Thursday at Dodger Stadium.
