Are you ready to indulge in a luxurious vacation? Look no further than FloridaPanhandle.com, the travel website that has analyzed costs in 100 popular vacation spots to determine the most expensive destinations. They examined average prices for accommodations, transportation, food, and attractions to give you an accurate picture of the costs involved. Here are the top 10 destinations that will certainly demand a big budget:

1. Gustavia, St. Barts
2. Gstaad, Switzerland
3. Aspen, Colorado
4. Park City, Utah
5. Maui, Hawaii
6. London, England
7. Cocoa Island, Maldives
8. Maun, Botswana
9. Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
10. Monte Carlo, Monaco

The list is dominated by exotic islands and luxurious ski towns. However, it also includes the appeal of eco-tourism safaris in Botswana and the financial capital of Europe, London.

Let’s dive deeper into the details of the top three most expensive destinations. St. Barts, the Caribbean island, claimed the number one spot due to its exorbitant accommodation costs, averaging $1,770 per night. Gstaad in Switzerland follows closely with an average hotel rate of $1,360 per night and the highest food costs on the list, at $177 per day. Aspen, Colorado, known for its lavish ski resorts, averages $1,385 per person for accommodations, but a family of four would expect to pay $2,274.

To obtain these prices, FloridaPanhandle.com researched four- and five-star hotel rates for the holiday season and springtime, specifically Christmas (Dec. 21-27) and spring (May 19-25). Taxes, however, were not included in the calculations.

Now, let’s explore the cost of attractions in these destinations. FloridaPanhandle.com calculated the average cost of the three most-reviewed attractions on TripAdvisor for each location. Park City, Utah, known for its ski slopes, takes the crown with an average of $333 per day for attractions. Maun, Botswana, the only African destination on the list, offers activities such as a one-day visit to the Okavango Delta, which averages over $100 per day. Surprisingly, St. Barts and the Maldives have attractions valued at $0 despite their higher overall costs. So while you may have to splurge on hotels in these locations, the beautiful beaches come free of charge.

Monte Carlo, often associated with glamorous gambling, has one of the lowest average attraction rates on the list. This unexpected result is due to the fact that the city offers more than just casinos. The Oceanographic Museum of Monaco, Casino Square, and the Casino of Monte Carlo are the top three attractions, with an entrance fee of 18 euros ($20) for the casino. Gambling losses, however, are not factored into the average costs of attractions in Monte Carlo.

So, if you’re ready to treat yourself to an opulent getaway, these 10 destinations should be at the top of your list. Just remember to bring your wallet and enjoy everything these luxurious locations have to offer.
