Apple has released a new firmware update for the AirTag item trackers. This update brings the firmware version to 2A61, an improvement from the previous version (2A36) released in December last year.

AitTag New Firmware
It has been almost a year since the last firmware update for the AirTags, and there is currently no information available about the contents of this update.

The rollout of this firmware will be done in phases. One percent of users will receive the update today, followed by a 10 percent expansion on November 7. On November 14, an additional 25 percent of users will see the update, and finally, it will be available to all users on November 28.

It is not possible to manually initiate an AirTag update as it is done over-the-air through a connected iPhone. To ensure that your AirTag receives the update, keep it within range of your ‌‌iPhone‌‌ and wait for the firmware to be rolled out to your device. You can check the current firmware version of your AirTag through the Find My app, with instructions provided in our how-to guide.
