Discover the Indefinite Closure of Muza Restaurant in Troy as The Hill Remains Open

TROY — Muza, a popular 16-year-old Eastern European restaurant located near RPI, has recently announced that it is closing its doors indefinitely. The restaurant had been closed “until further notice” for several months before making this decision. However, its adjoining business, The Hill, will remain open. The five-building parcel of properties that includes both restaurants was put up for sale last fall and has recently been relisted.

A heartfelt note was posted on Facebook on Thursday morning, stating, “We have made the difficult decision to close the Muza doors indefinitely. We are incredibly grateful for all the support we have received. Muza would not have existed without you! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the unforgettable memories.”

No reason was given for the closure on Tuesday or back in May when the temporary closure initially began.

Muza, located at 1300 15th St., was established in 2007 by Jan Siemiginowski and Alicja Siemiginowska. Their son, Adam Siemiginowski, and a business partner opened The Hill, an adjoining beer garden, in 2015. However, Adam sold the business in February.

The Hill, situated at 379 Congress St., closed for the season last October but reopened this past Memorial Day weekend with a full liquor license. It now operates on Thursday and Friday evenings and throughout the weekend starting from noon. Previously, it only served beer and wine.

The properties were initially listed for sale in October for $998,000 but were later taken off the market. They have been recently put up for sale again, this time at a price of $925,000. According to The Business Review, Adam Siemiginowski, the owner of the buildings, is selling them due to his increasing commitments in a business development job.
