Discover the Impressive Battery Charging Speed of Galaxy A55

The upcoming Galaxy A55 is not expected to have faster charging speeds than its predecessor, the Galaxy A54, based on its 3C certification. While Samsung has decided not to release a new Galaxy A7x smartphone in 2023 and may have discontinued the A7x line altogether, the Galaxy A5x series will continue with the introduction of the Galaxy A55 next year.

Rumors and leaks have provided some insights into the Galaxy A55, and its 3C certification has confirmed that the A55 will support 25W fast charging and will not come with a charging brick in the box.

It is important to note that 3C certifications do not always indicate the maximum charging speeds for a smartphone, so there is a possibility that the Galaxy A55’s charging speeds may exceed 25W. However, even Samsung’s high-end foldable phones do not support 45W charging, which is currently the fastest charging speed available for Galaxy smartphones.

Galaxy A55 to Feature 25W Charging with Separate Charger Purchase

Details about the Galaxy A55’s battery capacity are not yet available, but it is anticipated to have a similar 5,000 mAh battery as the Galaxy A54. Other specs, such as the primary rear camera and front-facing camera megapixel counts, may also remain unchanged.

One of the most exciting aspects of the Galaxy A55 is its Exynos 1480 chipset, which will introduce a GPU co-developed with AMD to the mid-range segment for the first time. The Exynos 1480 will feature an Xclipse 530 GPU, based on the older AMD RDNA2 graphics architecture, offering improved performance compared to the Galaxy A54’s Mali GPU.

The Xclipse 530 may not support ray tracing, a demanding graphics rendering method. It is unlikely that Samsung will include ray tracing support in a chipset designed for mid-range smartphones, given the significant computational demands of ray tracing.

Official announcements regarding the Exynos 1480 and its AMD-powered GPU have not been made by Samsung. However, more information is expected in the coming weeks leading up to the launch of the Galaxy A55.
