Earth, once a vibrant planet, now lies in ruins in the game Starfield. Without an atmosphere, it has become an endless desert landscape. The sight of this is truly shocking. Amidst the vast stretches of sand, broken remnants of humanity’s past can still be seen peeking through. Strangely, at each of these somber sites, there is a single snow globe for players to collect. It’s a cheery touch! Not to mention, there are two more snow globes to find on the moon and Mars.
However, locating these snow globes and the landmarks they represent is no easy task. Except for one, each snow globe has an associated book that players must find first. These books will provide the necessary coordinates. Once you have the coordinates, all you need to do is travel to Earth, land at the designated site, and explore the area (while keeping an eye out for the snow globes).
It’s important to note that some of these books can only be found during specific quests. Therefore, progressing through certain questlines may make some snow globes unattainable. Ideally, players who haven’t made much progress in the Crimson Fleet faction quest or the First Contact quest, and who haven’t completed the main quest “Unearthed,” are the best candidates for successful snow globe hunting. Additionally, if you’re playing a New Game+ and choose to skip the main quest, you may miss out on some of the snow globes located in quest-specific areas.
Furthermore, uncovering the locations of these landmarks may require some stealth and thievery. So it’s recommended to invest at least one point into the Stealth and Pickpocket skills before embarking on your stellar sightseeing journey. Keep in mind that there’s a possibility of finding books for the snow globe landmarks in different locations than those mentioned here; however, the following locations are confirmed.
1. U.S. Bank Tower, Los Angeles, California, Earth:
– Head to Hopetown on the planet Polvo in the Valo system.
– Steal the book titled “Hope Family Tree” from Ron Hope’s office in Hopetown.
– Read the book to obtain the coordinates for Los Angeles.
– Land in Los Angeles and find the U.S. Bank Tower to collect the snow globe.
2. The Gateway Arch, Saint Louis, Missouri, Earth:
– Visit Neon’s Astral Lounge on the planet Volii Alpha in the Volii system.
– Steal a penthouse key from Benjamin Bayu in the VIP area of the Astral Lounge.
– Use the penthouse key to access Bayu’s office and find the book titled “The Price of Destiny.”
– Read the book to discover the location of St. Louis and its famous arch.
3. The Empire State Building, New York, Earth:
– Go to the MAST building in New Atlantis on Jemison in the Alpha Centauri system.
– Steal the book titled “Our Lost Heritage” from the president’s office in the MAST building.
– Read the book to obtain the location of the Empire State Building.
– Land near the building and search the surrounding area for the snow globe.
4. The Shard, London, Earth:
– Travel to Akila City on Akila in the Cheyenne system.
– Purchase a copy of “Oliver Twist” from Sinclair’s Books in Akila City.
– Read the book to receive the landing site coordinates for London.
– Head to the Shard in London to find the snow globe.
5. The Pyramids, Cairo, Earth:
– Return to Sinclair’s Books in Akila City and acquire the book titled “Ancient Civilization of Egypt.”
– Read the book and travel to Cairo on Earth to explore the pyramids.
– Collect the snow globe during your visit.
6. Burj Khalifa, Dubai, Earth:
– Ensure you have not finished the “Siren of the Stars” quest in the Crimson Fleet scenario without looting the book “Race to the Heavens” in room five of the cruiser Siren of the Stars.
– Read the book to obtain the coordinates for Dubai.
– Visit Dubai and locate the Burj Khalifa to find the snow globe nearby.
7. International Commerce Center, Hong Kong, Earth:
– Travel to New Homestead on Titan in the Sol System.
– Retrieve Maurice Lyon’s journal.
– Read the journal to add the location of Hong Kong to your map.
8. Shanghai Tower, Shanghai, Earth:
– Read “Essentials of Modern Macroeconomics” in the classroom on the starship ECS Constant.
– Depending on the outcome of the “First Contact” quest, you may or may not have access to the book.
– Obtain the book before starting the “First Contact” quest.
9. Abeno Harukas, Osaka, Earth:
– Find the “Diary of Kyosuke Nagata” in Delgado’s room on The Key starstation in the Kryx System.
– Access to The Key is part of the Crimson Fleet faction quest, and availability may depend on quest progress.
10. The Leaning Tower of Pisa, Earth:
– Unfortunately, there is no specific book that leads to the location of The Leaning Tower of Pisa.
– Players will have to rely on their knowledge of Earth’s geography.
– Find the London landmark as a starting point, then look southeast on the map.
– The tower should be located just beyond the first mountain range, tucked into a corner.
