Discover Jimmy Pham, Westminster Attorney, as He Transitions from Congressional Race to State Assembly Race – Orange County Register

Westminster attorney Jimmy Pham drops out of California’s 45th congressional district race to focus on state Assembly elections.

Pham, one of the candidates aiming to unseat Rep. Michelle Steel, R-Seal Beach, has now set his sights on the 70th Assembly District seat currently held by Assemblymember Tri Ta, R-Westminster. While Pham, of Vietnamese descent, did not disclose further details, he expressed his gratitude for the support received and his desire to lead with common-sense ideals.

With candidates like Garden Grove Councilmember Kim Bernice Nguyen, Brea resident Aditya Pai, UC Irvine Law grad Cheyenne Hunt, and attorney Derek Tran in the running, the race for CA-45 remains competitive. Orange County’s Little Saigon, the largest Vietnamese enclave outside of Vietnam, is situated within the district, which stretches across Los Angeles and Orange counties.

CA-45 is one of the Republican-held or open districts that the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee plans to heavily invest in. Democrats currently hold a nearly 6% voter registration advantage over Republicans in the district, according to the latest official state registration reports.

Last year, Steel secured her reelection victory with a nearly 5% margin over her Democratic challenger.

Pham, an immigration attorney, began his congressional campaign in June. As a Westminster resident and Orange County native, Pham is committed to revitalizing the city, attracting more tourists, and securing additional funding for public safety and first responders.
