Hyundai has recently unveiled the highly anticipated 2023 i20 facelift. This updated version boasts of cosmetic enhancements and an array of new features, ensuring a captivating driving experience. Variant-wise Features: Hyundai i20 Facelift
We begin with the base variant of the i20 facelift, known as the Era. While the Era variant is priced slightly higher than its rivals, such as the Baleno Sigma petrol variant and Tata Altroz range, it compensates by offering an extensive range of safety features. These amenities include 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill start assist control, rear parking sensors, central locking, seat belt pretensioner, seatbelt reminder, 3-point seatbelts, and speed sensing auto door lock. The Era variant also includes basic features such as halogen headlamps, body-colored door handles, 14-inch steel wheels, pole roof antenna, TFT multi-information display, manual AC, manually adjustable ORVMs, USB C-Type charger at the front, map lamps, and front power outlet.
All variants of the i20 facelift are equipped with a 1.2-liter petrol engine, delivering a power output of 83 PS with a 5-speed manual transmission and 88 PS with the iVT gearbox. The torque output stands at 114.7 Nm. However, it is worth mentioning that the 1.0-liter turbo unit has been discontinued for the i20 facelift, though it may make a comeback with the N Line facelift. Mid-Spec Variants: Hyundai i20 Facelift
For an additional cost of approximately 70k, the i20 Magna variant offers a host of additional features. These include automatic headlamps, headlight escort function, DRLs near air curtains, shark fin antenna, and a foldable key. On the inside, the i20 Magna features an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, steering wheel with audio and Bluetooth controls, voice recognition, electrically adjustable ORVMs, rear AC vents, and power windows. Safety has been further improved with the inclusion of a tire pressure monitoring system (Highline). The i20 Magna is exclusively available with a manual transmission.
Next up, the Hyundai i20 Sportz variant offers both manual and automatic transmission options. The prices for these variants are Rs 8.33 lakh and Rs 9.38 lakh, respectively. The i20 Sportz strikes a perfect balance between affordability and a wide range of equipment. However, it does not come with a sunroof. Notable features of the i20 Sportz include Z-shaped LED tail lamps, 16-inch dual-tone steel wheels, auto climate control with a digital display, height-adjustable driver seat, electric folding ORVMs with auto fold function, and a cooled glove box. The safety kit includes a rear camera, driver rear view monitor, and an emergency stop signal. If the i20 Sportz variant had a sunroof, it would have been the most value-for-money option.
Top-Spec Variants: Hyundai i20 Facelift
The top-spec variants of the i20 facelift prioritize style and creature comforts. The i20 Asta variant is priced at Rs 9.29 lakh, exclusively available with a manual transmission. Key highlights of this variant include puddle lamps, welcome function, smart key, LED headlights, LED DRLs, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, blue ambient lighting, leather-wrapped interiors, a premium 7-speaker sound system by Bose, and an electric sunroof.
As for the top-of-the-line Asta (O) manual and automatic variants, they are priced at Rs 9.98 lakh and Rs 11.01 lakh, respectively. The dual-tone version comes at a cost of Rs 11.16 lakh. The Asta (O) variant offers significant upgrades, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation, the Bluelink connectivity suite with dedicated buttons, height-adjustable seat belts for the driver and front passenger, rear seat adjustable headrests, ambient sounds of nature, and a voice-enabled smart electric sunroof.
