Democrat’s Dominating Ad Strategy: Outspending Republicans by 100 Times, Targeting Lauren Boebert with $1.2 Million Ads, Reveals Report

  • Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert narrowly won re-election in 2022 with a margin of just 546 votes.

  • This has motivated Democrats to heavily invest in defeating the strongly MAGA-oriented Republican in next year’s election.

  • According to The New York Times, Democrats have outspent Republicans on advertising by a staggering 100 times.

Representative Lauren Boebert of Colorado was originally elected in 2020, winning by a significant margin of over 25,000 votes against her Democratic opponent. However, two years later, she faced a much closer race in her Republican-leaning district and barely secured victory, prevailing over a relatively unknown challenger by a mere 546 ballots.

In addition to this close contest, Boebert was involved in a controversial incident famously referred to as “that Beetlejuice incident.” As reported by Business Insider, this incident entailed her being escorted from a Denver Beetlejuice performance due to disruptive behavior, including the use of a vape pen and some public groping. The fallout from this event has prompted Democrats to allocate even more resources to defeat Boebert, while some of her Republican allies have distanced themselves from her, as stated in The New York Times.

Adam Frisch, Boebert’s challenger in the 2022 election, has returned with financial support. Democrats, including local businessman Frisch, have already reserved a significant $1.2 million for advertising in the upcoming 2024 race, surpassing Republican spending by over 100 times, according to Ad Impact, a reputable tracking firm cited by The New York Times.

Despite facing a primary challenge from within her own party, Boebert still retains support from certain factions. In 2021, she received an endorsement from former President Donald Trump after aligning with his baseless claims of election fraud in 2020 (her Republican opponent, who has rejected these claims, is unlikely to receive Trump’s endorsement).

Boebert acknowledges the uphill battle she faces, stating last month, “Democrats certainly smell blood in the water,” as reported by Business Insider.
