Marvel actor Jonathan Majors’ trial in Manhattan has been postponed, as he faces charges related to a domestic dispute with a woman. The charges against Majors include assault, attempted assault, harassment, and aggravated harassment. Majors appeared in New York City Criminal Court, accompanied by his girlfriend, Meagan Good, wearing a gray suit and holding a Bible.
The trial date has been moved to September 6, as both the defense and prosecutors agreed that more time was needed to obtain discovery. Prosecutors stated that they were “not yet ready” to proceed with the trial.
Majors’ attorneys have vehemently denied the charges and have argued that his accuser was the aggressor. However, reports have surfaced indicating a history of abusive behavior by Majors, both in his personal relationships and on set.
Majors was initially arrested on March 25 after a dispute with a 30-year-old woman in New York City. The woman accused Majors of assault and sustained minor injuries to her head and neck.
Majors’ attorney, Priya Chaudhry, has released multiple statements asserting his innocence, claiming that video evidence and witness testimony will support his case. Chaudhry also suggested that Majors’ accuser was experiencing an emotional crisis.
Chaudhry further stated that Majors had been a victim of abuse in his relationship and expressed a desire for the arrest of the accuser.
Since his arrest, Majors has faced professional repercussions, with multiple projects dropping him, and his public relations team and management distancing themselves from him. However, he remains part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is set to play Kang the Conquerer in the upcoming film “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.”
