Deion Sanders expresses disappointment over Colorado players’ absence from camp altercation

In the scorching month of August, football coaches often stress the importance of maintaining composure amidst rising temperatures and escalating tensions. However, Deion Sanders, the new head coach of the University of Colorado, had a different message for his players. Rather than reprimanding them for fighting, he admonished them for not fighting. A minor altercation occurred during a goal-line drill after Anthony Hankers scored a touchdown. Safety Jaden Milliner-Jones, well after the play, aggressively tackled Hankers, which triggered a response from offensive tackle Gerad Christian-Lichentan. Pushing, shoving, and yelling broke out, with some teammates attempting to restore order. Coaches intervened to separate the players. Shortly after, Coach Prime addressed the offense, expressing his displeasure at their lack of reaction.

“I witnessed two of you walking off, while your teammate was engaged in a fight,” Sanders chastised. “Where does that behavior belong? Nowhere!”

“Not here,” his players responded.

“If one fights, we all fight,” Sanders declared with frustration. “Do you comprehend the significance? I don’t ever want to see you walking away while your teammates are engaged in a fight. Never again!”

After enduring a disastrous 1-11 season, the Buffaloes are once again in the spotlight with the arrival of Sanders and a multitude of talented transfers who followed him to Boulder. The Sanders era commences on September 2nd when the Buffs face off against TCU. The following week, they will host their long-time rival, Nebraska, at Folsom Field. The spring game, which witnessed a snowstorm, sold out and was broadcasted by ESPN.
