It is a horrifying display of depravity, and shockingly, there are New York City progressives who support these twisted acts.
In a bizarre turn of events, the Democratic Socialists of America are organizing an “All Out for Palestine” rally right in the heart of Times Square. The organizers advise participants to wear masks to avoid being recognized, as if hiding behind anonymity will somehow justify their hateful cause.
Congressman Ritchie Torres spoke out against this disturbing rally, rightly pointing out that the lives of Israeli civilians and children who have been murdered, wounded, and terrorized seem to mean nothing to the DSA. He accurately described the group as an antisemitic stain on the soul of America’s largest city.
It is worth noting that the DSA is aligned with figures like Ilhan Omar, Cori Bush, Rashida Tlaib, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Jamaal Bowman. These individuals are often quick to label others as “extremists,” so it’s worth asking them what they have to say about the extremism displayed by Hamas and its supporters.
Ilhan Omar has already called for a “deescalation and ceasefire,” essentially asking Israel to accept the brutal murder of hundreds of its own people. In her distorted worldview, war crimes committed by Palestinians should be accepted without consequence.
However, it is important to understand that this is not simply a “cycle” of violence. This is a deliberate effort by groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, and Fatah to destroy Israel. Israel desires nothing more than to live within secure borders and see Gaza and the West Bank flourish as its neighbors. Unfortunately, the Palestinians, fueled by propaganda and hatred from Iran, cannot accept this.
This recent attack was a response to the historic detente between Israel and Saudi Arabia — a step towards peace that the Squad claims to support. Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah in Lebanon, made it clear that anything that disrupts their agenda of turning Palestinian children into killers and Israelis into targets is seen as their enemy.
The Biden administration’s eagerness to appease Iran and revive the toothless nuclear treaty is deeply concerning. Iran continues to support terrorism throughout the region, perpetuating this cycle of destruction and misery.
Now more than ever, America needs to stand as an unwavering ally of Israel. These acts of violence and those who support them are nothing short of monstrous. President Biden must stop his appeasement policy towards Iran and confront their warmongering. Democrats, in turn, must denounce the representatives who offer aid and comfort to murderers and kidnappers.
To the people of New York: I encourage you to join us in Times Square on Sunday at 1 p.m. Bring your Israeli flags and make your voices heard. Let us demonstrate that hate will not be tolerated.
