Death of Terry Price, Former Texas A&M Assistant Coach at the Age of 55

Terry Price, a former player and longtime assistant coach at Texas A&M University, passed away at the age of 55 on Friday, according to an announcement by the school.

Price, who was a member of the Aggies football team from 1986 to 1989 and won two Southwest Conference titles, had been serving as a defensive line coach at College Station for the past 11 years.

The cause of death has not been disclosed.

“A legend on the playing field and the sidelines, it is with heavy hearts we mourn the loss of Terry Price and offer our deepest condolences to Coach Price’s family and friends,” tweeted the Aggies on Friday.

After his college football career, Price was selected in the 10th round of the 1990 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears, playing two games for the team.

He quickly transitioned into coaching, returning to Texas A&M for two seasons before moving on to Western Kentucky.

Price then had an extensive tenure in the SEC, coaching at Ole Miss (1995-98, 2009-11) and Auburn (1999-2008), before returning to Texas A&M in 2011.

He was known for his recruiting skills and for coaching and developing notable linemen such as Myles Garrett and Justin Madubuike.
