Winner – Manchester City
It’s hard to see anyone stopping Manchester City from winning the league, unless they become complacent after winning the treble. However, based on Pep Guardiola’s track record, I doubt he will allow that to happen. He has shown his dissatisfaction in the past when the team lost focus, so I expect City to maintain their hunger and remain the best team.
Top four – Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United
While Manchester City may face some challenges, I still believe they will come out on top. Arsenal will also be stronger this season, with Mikel Arteta having learned from last year’s mistakes and adding depth to the squad. As for Liverpool and Manchester United, they need to address the potential midfield gaps left by Jordan Henderson and Fabinho. Overall, these four teams are my predictions for the top spots.
Relegation – Sheffield United, Luton, Bournemouth
Luton’s journey to the Premier League is commendable, but I believe they will be relegated straight back down. As for Sheffield United, despite their previous surprising performances, the competition and investments from other clubs will make it difficult for them to repeat last year’s success. It will be a close battle between Nottingham Forest, Burnley, Bournemouth, and Everton for the final relegation spot. While Bournemouth’s new manager, Andoni Iraola, is highly regarded, his lack of Premier League experience may hold them back. Ultimately, I think Sheffield United will go back down.
Surprise package – Aston Villa
Aston Villa fans should be excited for the upcoming season. Under Unai Emery, their record speaks for itself, and they have made some impressive signings. Players like Moussa Diaby, Youri Tielemans, and Pau Torres bring added quality and competition to the squad. I do believe Villa would benefit from signing another striker, but overall, I think they will surprise many people this season.
Team to struggle – Wolves
I have concerns about Wolves this season. They have undergone a significant turnover of players, losing key figures like Ruben Neves. While they may have enough to avoid relegation, I don’t see them comfortably maintaining their midtable position from previous seasons. As Leicester City has shown, standing still in the Premier League can be detrimental.
Top scorer – Erling Haaland
There is no doubt in my mind that Erling Haaland will claim the Premier League Golden Boot this season. His incredible goal-scoring ability speaks for itself.
