Danielle Lloyd spills the beans: Matt Hancock invites her on a thrilling double date with Gina Coladangelo post-Celeb SAS, but conversation conundrum awaits

Danielle Lloyd has revealed that she formed an unlikely bond with Matt Hancock during their time on Celebrity SAS and that he has invited her on a double date. Matt Hancock, the former Health Secretary, is currently dating his former aide Gina Coladangelo, while Danielle is married to electrician Michael O’Neill.

During their time in Thung Ui, north Vietnam, Danielle, a glamour model, got along well with the politician. However, she confessed that she does not think they would have much to talk about during a civilised dinner. In an interview with OK! magazine, she said, “We’re very different people – I honestly don’t know what we’d talk about, but I’m sure it’d be a fun night. I’d just have to get him drunk!”

Talking about their interactions in camp, Danielle revealed, “I’m definitely not into politics, he was just someone I saw on the news every day when we were being told not to leave our houses, but when I met him, he was nice enough to me – really friendly.”

In regards to questioning Matt about his actions during the pandemic, Danielle stated, “Some people definitely had a few questions for him over what went down during the pandemic, but I won’t give too much away. All I’ll say is that he did handle confrontation quite well.”

Matt recently shared that the closest he came to quitting Celebrity SAS was after “having my rib broken” during the jungle phase of the SAS selection. He explained, “I was determined to keep going so I just kept my mouth shut so I wasn’t medically discharged.” Matt had served as health secretary for nearly three years before resigning in June 2021 due to breaking his own Covid-19 guidance by engaging in physical contact with Gina in his office.

Despite his challenges, Matt expressed his love for pushing his limits and being on the show. He described the experience as one of the toughest physical tests he has ever faced and a journey of self-discovery.

Matt also spoke about his rapport with the other recruits on the show, including singer Gareth Gates, Olympian Perri Shakes-Drayton, and former England footballer Jermaine Pennant. Reflecting on his boxing match with Pennant, Matt said, “I was relieved that I wasn’t being paired with somebody even bigger, or a woman. But I thought, this is a bad moment. It didn’t hurt nearly as much as I expected actually, being smacked in the face.”
