Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin made a triumphant return to Cincinnati on Sunday night, nearly 10 months after his life-threatening collapse during a nationally televised game.
Hamlin, who is now 25 years old, suffered a cardiac arrest early in the Bills-Bengals game on January 2, which ended up being declared a no contest due to the incident.
After being rushed to the hospital in critical condition, Hamlin has made a remarkable recovery and has been given the green light to continue his football career.
Throughout his journey, Hamlin has expressed his deep gratitude towards the Bills’ medical team and the first responders in Cincinnati who played a crucial role in saving his life.
In fact, he has even started a charitable foundation to provide scholarships to underprivileged children in Cincinnati as a way to honor and thank them for their life-saving efforts.
Although Hamlin did not participate in Sunday night’s game, he has seen limited action this season, having played in only one game so far – a 48-20 victory against the Miami Dolphins on October 1.
The scheduling of Sunday’s game was a matter of chance and circumstance.
