Customers Furious as Tom Kerridge Raises Price of Fish and Chips to £37, Serves Miserly Portions

Celebrated TV chef Tom Kerridge has faced criticism in the past for the high prices of his fish and chips. Despite this, he has recently increased the cost of his famous dish at Harrods in London. Customers will now have to pay £37 for a taste of Kerridge’s unique twist on the classic English meal. This price increase follows the introduction of a £35 price tag in June. The meal, called the Market Day Fish Meal, includes a piece of Cornish fish coated in Kerridge’s gluten-free batter, served with eight chips, Matson curry sauce, tartare sauce, and pease pudding. Other items on the menu, such as coleslaw and peas, have also seen a £1 increase, now costing £8.50.

The renowned chef, who runs eight restaurants including the Hand of Flowers and The Coach in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, has also raised the prices of his hand-cut triple cooked chips and lobster. Kerridge’s thick-cut chips, previously priced at £8.50, now cost £9.50. Similarly, his Cornish New Potatoes with Herb Butter have also increased in price by £1. The most staggering price hike is found in the Whole Lobster dish, which has increased by £15 from £65 to £80.

According to the Harrods website, fish and chips are a classic British meal that brings comfort and nostalgia. It is worth noting that this is not the first time Kerridge has faced criticism for the prices of his dishes. He has previously sold £87 steak dinners and £60 ready-made fish pies, attracting both praise and disapproval.
