It’s been quite a week! I finally finished installing new flooring in my kids’ rooms, but now I’ve come down with a pesky cold. On the bright side, I’ve managed to overcome my writer’s block that had been plaguing me for weeks. And hooray, it’s finally Friday! It’s 2XP Friday, which means it’s time for some competitive Wordle action against me or the Wordle Bot. Let’s dive in and solve today’s Wordle puzzle! I’ll provide you with clues, hints, and the solution to Wordle #832.

How to Solve Today’s Word

The Hint: This word contains a 10-point Scrabble letter.

Wordle Bot Analysis

After solving each Wordle puzzle, I like to visit the Wordle Bot homepage to see how well I did. I didn’t realize how accurate my initial guess was until I ran the Wordle Bot analysis. It turns out, I made a great first guess and ended up with green boxes. I debated whether to guess all new letters, but I decided to go with my instinct and took a chance. And it paid off! The yellow ‘A’ had to go in the first box, and I was pretty confident about it, so I guessed the word “aware.” After that, the only remaining letter was ‘z,’ so I guessed “azure.” Huzzah!

Today’s Score

Total wash. I didn’t earn any points for guessing in four attempts, and I didn’t tie with the Bot either.

Wordle Etymology

The word “azure” has an interesting etymology. Its origins can be traced back to both Latin and Arabic.

  1. Latin: The word “azure” comes from the Latin words “lazulum” or “lazuli,” which referred to the semi-precious stone lapis lazuli. This stone is known for its deep blue color and was used as a pigment for blue dyes and paints in ancient times. The Latin words “lazulum” or “lazuli” were borrowed from the Persian word “lāžaward,” which also referred to the lapis lazuli stone.
  2. Arabic: The Persian word “lāžaward” was derived from the Arabic word “lāzaward,” which had the same meaning, also referring to the lapis lazuli stone. The Arabic word “lāzaward” likely played a significant role in spreading the concept of this blue color to other languages, including Latin.

Over time, the use of “azure” expanded to describe the color of the sky on a clear day, a rich and vivid shade of blue. Today, “azure” is commonly used to describe various shades of blue, particularly those resembling the clear blue sky. It is often associated with a bright and vibrant blue color.
