Crack Team of Investigators on the Hunt for Arrest in Corona Hit-and-Run Case

Corona police investigators are actively pursuing leads in a hit-and-run incident that left a 14-year-old boy with serious injuries, authorities revealed on Wednesday.

The victim, a resident of Corona, was riding his bicycle in the area of Rimpau Avenue and Upper Drive around 8:30 a.m. on Friday when he was struck.

Corona Police Department spokesman Corporal Tobias Kouroubacalis stated that officers are currently investigating information that could potentially lead to the identification of the suspect driver and the vehicle involved.

Further details are being withheld until the conclusion of the investigation.

The current condition of the boy is unknown. It has not been confirmed whether he is still receiving treatment at the hospital or if he has been discharged to recover at home.

According to the police, the boy was on his way to school when he was struck by an SUV traveling westbound on Upper Drive. The driver did not stop after the collision.

Witnesses immediately dialed 911, leading to the arrival of paramedics and police at the scene. The victim was found to have sustained injuries to his abdomen and was subsequently transported to a Riverside hospital. Over the weekend, he was reported to be in stable condition.

Through security surveillance cameras installed at nearby businesses, investigators managed to acquire photographs of the SUV involved. However, the license plate on the light-colored vehicle was not clearly visible.

Anyone with information related to the incident was urged to contact Officer Kevin Matty at 951-817-5764.
