Corgis Take the Lead in Paying Tribute to the Queen

A gathering of devoted royal fans and their beloved corgis took place outside Buckingham Palace on Sunday in commemoration of the late Queen Elizabeth II, exactly one year after her passing. According to the AP, approximately 20 corgi enthusiasts adorned their furry companions with crowns, tiaras, and royal attire, parading them around the palace in central London as a tribute to Elizabeth. Corgis were an inseparable part of the queen’s life, with her owning around 30 of them throughout her lifetime. These dogs were descendants of Susan, a corgi that was gifted to Elizabeth on her 18th birthday.

Agatha Crerer-Gilbert, the organizer of this event, expressed her desire to hold the corgi march annually as a way to honor Elizabeth’s memory. “I can’t think of a better way to remember her than through her beloved corgis, the breed that she cherished throughout her life,” she said. “I’m still adjusting to the fact that she’s no longer physically with us, but she’s watching over us.” September 8th will mark the first anniversary of the 96-year-old queen’s passing at her Balmoral castle estate in Scotland. With a reign of 70 years, she holds the title of Britain’s longest-reigning sovereign.
