Cook’s Corner shares heartfelt video expressing condolences to victims of mass shooting – Orange County Register

In a heartfelt and emotional video, the general manager of Cook’s Corner expressed her condolences to all those affected by the tragic incident that occurred at the roadhouse grill. She acknowledged the devastating impact caused by one man’s actions, which resulted in the loss of lives and injuries to many.

Posted on her Facebook page, the video captured the manager, Rhonda Palmeri, sighing heavily and struggling to hold back tears as she spoke. She extended her sincere sympathies to the families of the victims and those currently fighting for their lives, as well as to the friends and family of Cook’s Corner patrons who were present on the fateful evening of August 23rd.

Palmeri expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers from the community. She also commended the swift response and actions of the first responders and Orange County law enforcement.

Furthermore, Palmeri announced that a private gathering with close friends and family is being arranged for those who were present at Cook’s Corner that tragic night. She mentioned that an official reopening date has not yet been determined but assured the community that they will be informed as soon as possible.

Following the initial 911 call at 7:04 p.m., over 70 Orange County sheriff’s vehicles and 100 deputies swiftly responded to Cook’s Corner. Within minutes, deputies confronted the gunman, John Snowling, who had entered the iconic biker and family restaurant. By 7:08 p.m., deputies had fatally shot Snowling after he brandished a 12-gauge shotgun. Sadly, three individuals lost their lives: John Leehey of Irvine, Glen Sprowl Jr. of Stanton, and Tonya Clark of Scottsdale, Arizona.

The tragedy has shaken the community of Trabuco Canyon to its core. Cook’s Corner, known as “neutral ground” to many motorcycle enthusiasts, served as a welcoming space for people from all backgrounds. This vibrant establishment has long held its place as one of Southern California’s most iconic Western-style roadhouses.

The biker community, who often frequented Cook’s Corner, is organizing a memorial to honor the victims. However, the specific details such as the date and time are yet to be determined.

Last week, a community prayer service was held at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest. A solemn procession of bikers, donning Cook’s Corner hats and shirts, gathered at the church to offer support and comfort to one another.
