Controversy Unveiled: Woman Takes Legal Action Against Jason Derulo Over Alleged Demands for Intimate Favors Post Record Contract – National Attention!

Jason Derulo Faces Sexual Harassment Lawsuit by Young Musician

A young musician, Emaza Gibson, has recently filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against renowned singer Jason Derulo. Gibson claims that Derulo signed her to a record deal but then exerted pressure on her to engage in sexual activities. The 25-year-old artist mentioned that she was terminated from her position after refusing sexual advances from the 34-year-old R&B singer. Gibson expressed her distress by stating, “I have anxiety; I’m traumatized.”

The lawsuit accuses Derulo and his label, Atlantic Records, of various offenses, including retaliation, breach of contract, failure to address workplace harassment, and violation of California’s civil rights act. Gibson claims that Derulo contacted her in 2021 as part of a joint music venture between his music imprint, Future History, and Atlantic Records.

Gibson, known online as Emaza Dilan, had been posting music and viral dance videos in an effort to launch her singing career. Derulo apparently noticed Gibson’s online presence and offered her a record deal. The contract obliged Gibson to create a mixtape within four months of signing and an album within six months. The deal also stated that she would collaborate with Derulo on a single.

The aspiring musician believed that this record deal would be a stepping stone for her career, considering Derulo’s international fame. Both artists worked on music together and presented it to label executives at Atlantic. However, during their collaboration, Gibson claimed that Derulo frequently invited her to dine and drink alcohol, which she declined. Additionally, she stated that she rejected multiple sexual advances from him, leading to her contract being terminated.

In September 2021, Gibson alleged that Derulo provided her with excessive amounts of alcohol during a recording session. She felt compelled to drink due to the pressure imposed on her. Later, in November, when Gibson voiced her refusal to compromise her values for the entertainment industry, Derulo mentioned “goat skin and fish scales,” which she interpreted as referring to drugs and sex.

Another incident occurred in November 2021 when Gibson confronted Derulo about his relationship with another woman referred to as “Rosa” in the lawsuit. Gibson claimed that Derulo became aggressive and hit furniture. She believed that Rosa was gaining career success because she engaged in sexual activities with Derulo.

Although Gibson eventually signed a record deal with Atlantic, her progress was hindered by Derulo’s failure to assign her a project manager or respond to her messages. The situation escalated in June 2022 when Derulo displayed aggressive behavior during a recording session, causing Gibson to fear for her safety. He yelled and charged at her until he realized his inappropriate behavior.

On September 6, 2022, Gibson was dropped from both Atlantic and Future History. She and her mother attempted to report Derulo’s actions to Atlantic but received no response.
