Nov. 11—Reports of THEFT
Around the city, the police force is actively investigating several cases of theft. One such incident occurred in the 1100 block of 20th Street, where a daring thief made off with the catalytic converter, a rim, and four tires from a 2006 Jeep Cherokee while the owner was away between Sunday evening and Monday night.
Another instance of vehicle theft took place in the 1800 block of Linwood Avenue. The victim, a female, reported to the police that her 2014 Kia Sportage was broken into in the dead of night, resulting in the theft of $800 and a shattered rear window.
The saga of theft continues in the 200 block of First Street, as a male victim recounted the harrowing experience of being victimized by a criminal who smashed the driver’s-side front window of his 2018 Chevy CRZ and snatched his wallet. This illicit activity occurred late Monday evening into the early hours of Tuesday.
Further incidents include a suspect brandishing a rifle outside a convenience store in the 1500 block of Pine Avenue at 1:45 a.m. on a Wednesday, and a burglary on the 900 block of 80th Street, where a victim reported that his wallet was taken after a perpetrator broke into his apartment through a balcony window between the hours of 4:30 and 9:30 a.m. on a Thursday.
