Comeback Win over Twins Saves Blue Jays from a Sweep

Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Kevin Gausman was able to overcome a rough outing on Sunday thanks to some superstitious “rally beers” and a comeback win by the team. Gausman struggled on the mound, giving up six runs on seven hits and four walks in just 4 2/3 innings, but his teammates rallied with Cavan Biggio’s three-run homer in the eighth inning leading the team to a 7-6 victory over the Minnesota Twins. After the game, Gausman revealed that he turned to some beers to calm his nerves and continue his usual ritual of drinking “rally beers” during games. The Blue Jays’ win capped off a grueling stretch of 30 games in 31 days, during which they posted a 16-14 record.
