LUCENA CITY — Severe Tropical Storm Hanna (international name: Haikui) has caused inclement weather in Cavite province, leading to the suspension of classes in 19 municipalities. The local governments in Cavite, Imus, Trece Martires, Bacoor, General Trias, and Dasmariñas announced the suspension of classes at all levels in public and private schools. The towns of Naic, Noveleta, Silang, Alfonso, General Emilio Aguinaldo, Kawit, Maragondon, Indang, Tanza, Ternate, Mendez, Magallanes, and Amadeo also suspended school classes. Most of these local governments implemented the suspension on Thursday morning.
In addition, Malacañang declared the suspension of classes at all levels and government work in the National Capital Region on Friday due to the southwest monsoon enhanced by tropical cyclones. As of Friday morning, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has not raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals in the affected areas.
