A smaller version of the city’s CicLAvia festivals will be held in North Hollywood Sunday, with a one-mile stretch of Lankershim Boulevard closed to vehicle traffic from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
CicLAmini North Hollywood will feature a variety of activities, street games, local business engagements, and immersive art and cultural experiences suitable for all ages. The festival will be running from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Lankershim Boulevard will be exclusively dedicated to non-motorized vehicles, with the closure extending from Chandler Boulevard to Camarillo Street/Vineland Avenue. Other sections of Magnolia Avenue and Chandler will also be part of the event, with Magnolia closed to cars between Lankershim and Vineland, and Chandler closed off between Tujunga Avenue and Lankershim.
Motorized wheelchairs and similar disability-related vehicles are permitted.
Parking will be restricted along the route after 1 a.m. on Sunday. Clear parking restrictions will be posted, and towing will be strictly enforced.
CicLAvia festivals are occuring throughout the year with the aim of promoting local businesses and inspiring residents to discover the unique offerings of different neighborhoods on foot or through alternative non-motorized transportation.
This year has seen the successful completion of five events, including a CicLAmini in Watts. However, a recent CicLAvia event in the Koreatown and Hollywood area had to be canceled due to the impact of Tropical Storm Hilary.
The next CicLAvia event after Sunday’s gathering is scheduled for October 15 in downtown Los Angeles.
