In a recent appearance on “Fox News Sunday,” Chris Christie, former Governor of New Jersey and Republican presidential candidate, took aim at Donald Trump, accusing him of lying about the size of his rally crowds and failing to fulfill his policy promises.

Christie expressed his frustration with political candidates who manipulate the truth to please voters, stating, “The American people, including those within the Republican Party, have grown tired of deceitful politicians who peddle empty promises and evade the truth.”

Regarding Trump’s rally attendance figures, Christie dismissed the estimates as “absurd” and asserted, “The large crowds he claims are no longer a reality. You can see the evidence for yourself in the pictures.”

Despite Trump’s lead in the polls among Republican candidates and ongoing investigations into his conduct, Christie remains a staunch critic.

One area of disagreement between Trump and Christie is Social Security reform. While Trump opposes any cuts to the program, Christie advocates for means testing, excluding individuals with higher incomes from receiving benefits, and raising the retirement age.

Christie also questioned the lengthy investigation into Hunter Biden’s alleged tax crimes, labeling it as either dishonest or incompetently handled. He expressed dissatisfaction with the slow progress and ultimate dismissal of gun charges against President Joe Biden’s son.

Although Christie’s presidential campaign is considered a long shot, he has seen modest gains in the polls, currently polling around 2.5%. His campaign has also garnered support from influential donors.

To secure a position in the upcoming Republican primary debates, candidates must receive 40,000 individual contributions and poll above 1% in three national polls or two national polls and one state poll.
