Celebrity hairstylist Chis Appleton has officially filed for divorce from actor Lukas Gage, just six months after their star-studded wedding.
The 40-year-old Appleton cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, filing the paperwork in a Los Angeles court on Nov. 12 and listing Nov. 10 as the date of separation from 28-year-old Gage, according to documents obtained by TODAY.com.
Notably, there is no request for spousal support as the men had previously signed a post-nuptial agreement on May 3, which waived this. The agreement dictates that they will exit the marriage with the same individual assets and obligations that they entered with.
The couple had shared pictures of their wedding on Instagram on April 26, confirming their nuptials to TODAY.com at the time. Their wedding was officiated by Kim Kardashian, one of Appleton’s clients, and included a performance by Shania Twain.
“We did it,” Appleton captioned his post with a ring emoji, giving a big thank you to Kim Kardashian and Shania Twain.
“Ring finger where the rock is,” Gage wrote in his post of the same pictures.
In an earlier confirmation of their relationship this year, both men expressed their happiness and love for each other in public interviews.
“Listen, I’m very happy, very much in love,” Appleton said on “The Drew Barrymore Show” in March. “And I feel very grateful to be able to share my time with someone very special.”
Gage shared a similar sentiment, saying, “I feel very happy, very lucky and very much in love,” and emphasizing their shared adventures and fun times together.
