Chick-fil-A Set to Open in North Greenbush and Clifton Park Next Week

The eagerly awaited opening of the first two Chick-fil-A restaurants in the Capital Region will finally take place next week. After more than a year since Clifton Park granted approval for the construction of the area’s inaugural Chick-fil-A, the long wait is over. On Thursday, July 20, the doors of the Clifton Park Center restaurant will open, allowing customers to savor the chain’s famous chicken sandwiches and waffle fries. Simultaneously, the North Greenbush location will also commence operations.

Owner Scott Payne expressed his delight at the imminent opening, stating, “I’m thrilled to finally open the doors of Chick-fil-A Clifton Park Center and welcome the community into our restaurant so they can experience firsthand Chick-fil-A’s signature hospitality and delicious food. I want to thank my entire team, as well as the community, for the continued excitement and for helping make this possible.”

Located at 304 Clifton Park Center Road and 502 North Greenbruch Road, both Chick-fil-A restaurants will provide employment opportunities for around 200 individuals. They will offer dine-in, drive-thru, and takeout services from Monday to Saturday, operating from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. However, the franchise will be closed on Sundays, adhering to its long-standing tradition.

Will Pots, the independent franchised owner of the North Greenbush restaurant, expressed his gratitude for the support received from the local community in the run-up to the restaurant’s opening. He said, “I’m honored to have been selected to open and operate one of the first free-standing restaurants in the Capital Region and look forward to introducing the Chick-fil-A brand to the community, meeting our guests on opening day, and building lasting connections with our neighbors.”

Although the Chick-fil-A at Albany International Airport has been functioning for several years, it is situated beyond the security checkpoint. As for the other planned Chick-fil-A restaurants in the Capital Region, their opening dates remain uncertain. Last month, the New Baltimore Service Area in Hannacroix reopened after undergoing renovations for a year, but to the surprise of many, the popular fast-food chain was absent from its roster of new restaurants.

In addition to the upcoming locations, Chick-fil-A has plans to debut another standalone restaurant at 579 Troy-Schenectady Road, as confirmed by planning documents submitted to the town of Colonie. However, due to traffic issues, these plans are still in the preliminary stages, according to Sean Maguire, the Colonie director of planning and economic development.

To commemorate the grand openings, Chick-fil-A will make a contribution of $50,000 to Feeding America, supporting the hunger relief efforts of the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York. Furthermore, the restaurants will honor 100 local heroes who have made a significant impact in the Clifton Park and Rensselaer areas by providing them with free Chick-fil-A for an entire year. Additionally, the locations will participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table Program, channeling surplus food to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks, and nonprofit organizations.

Individuals interested in working at either the Clifton Park or North Greenbush locations can find more information about job openings and scholarship opportunities on the Chick-fil-A website.
