Chargers’ Joey Bosa Suffers Foot Injury and is Carted Off in Game Against Packers

Joey Bosa, Chargers outside linebacker, left Sunday’s 23-20 loss to the Packers in Green Bay on a medical cart and in tears in the first quarter due to a foot injury. The team confirmed that he would not return to the game.

Bosa injured his right foot on the fourth play of the game, immediately showing evident signs of pain. He left the field with the support of his teammates and trainers, leaving many fans concerned for his well-being.

Bosa later appeared on the sideline with crutches and in a walking boot, causing concern amongst fans and the coaching staff. Chargers coach Brandon Staley provided no updates on Bosa’s condition after the game.

Bosa’s 2023 season has been marked by a series of injuries, including a hamstring injury in Week 1 and a fractured left big toe in Week 3. Despite these setbacks, Bosa showed glimpses of his talent with 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble in Week 9, but ongoing physical issues have limited his playtime.

Although Bosa has 6.5 sacks this season and has demonstrated flashes of excellence, his recurring injuries have raised concerns about his long-term ability to perform at the highest level.
