Aug. 11 (UPI) — Carly Pearce has returned with new music.
On Friday, the 33-year-old country music singer released her latest song, titled “Country Music Made Me Do It.”
In her new song, Pearce celebrates the genre of country music and reflects on its influence on her life and career.
“Country music made me do it / Got me drunk and got me through it / A little heartbreak eighty proof / Over three chords and the truth / Out of a small town and into a ballgown / Picking me up every time that I fall down,” she sings.
Pearce revealed the song while announcing her upcoming U.S. tour, named the Country Music Made Me Do It tour, on Monday.
“I’ve been busy in the studio recording new music, and I want to share a taste of that with all of you. ‘Country Music Made Me Do It’ captures the essence of this next chapter in my life,” the star wrote on Instagram.
“While I wrote this song as my own autobiographical anthem, I can’t wait to hear how country music has influenced your stories as well,” she shared with her fans.
The Country Music Made Me Do It tour will kick off on October 5 in New York City and will conclude on November 18 in Detroit.
“Country Music Made Me Do It” is Pearce’s second song of 2023, following her collaboration with Chris Stapleton titled “We Don’t Fight Anymore.”
In addition to her new music, Pearce will also be participating in A Tribute to The Judds, an album honoring Wynonna Judd and the late Naomi Judd of the famous music duo, The Judds.
