Carlos Edriel Yulo showcased his extraordinary skills at the ongoing Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Singapore, leaving no room for doubt in the judges’ minds. Yulo’s flawless routine at the OCBC Arena earned him a score of 15.300, securing the gold medal in the floor exercise. Dmitry Patanin of Kazakhstan took home the silver with a score of 14.366, while China’s Su Weide claimed the bronze with 14.330 points.

This is not the first time Yulo has triumphed in this event. He also won the floor exercise title at last year’s Asian championships in Doha, Qatar and became the world champion in 2018.

In addition to his floor exercise victory, the 23-year-old gymnast also secured a silver medal in the men’s all-around competition, qualifying him for the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Antwerp, Belgium in three months. Yulo has his sights set on achieving podium finishes in the parallel bars, vault, rings, and horizontal bars.

In women’s artistic gymnastics, Aleah Finnegan made history as the first female gymnast from the Philippines to reach the podium in the continental tournament, winning the bronze medal in the vault with a score of 13.483 points.
