Over 50 years ago, a stunt pilot and a filmmaker both plummeted to the ground while filming a small airplane for an upcoming project. The accident was captured on camera and used in the production of a documentary called Accident. The filmmaker who crashed directed the film, and it was later released by the National Film Board of Canada in 1973.
Aeon recently showcased the documentary. It’s a must-watch, especially for those of us who have become desensitized to the fear of flying. It reminds us that flying can result in tragic incidents like this:
