Captivating Encounter: Heroic Manhattan Beach Jewelry Store Employee Thwarts Smash-and-Grab Robbery

Detectives are currently investigating a robbery that took place at a jewelry store in Manhattan Beach. The incident occurred when five individuals entered Prestige Jewelers on N. Sepulveda Blvd and proceeded to smash showcases and steal merchandise. However, the situation took a turn when an employee fired a shot at the thieves, causing them to flee the store.

The robbery was reported to the Manhattan Beach Police Department on Saturday at 12:40 p.m. The robbers were described as wearing hoodies and using hammers during the crime. They managed to take some jewelry before the employee took action.

Fearing for their safety, the suspects quickly left the store and escaped in waiting vehicles. Witnesses saw them heading south on Sepulveda. Fortunately, no employees were injured, although it is unclear if any of the suspects sustained injuries.

To assist with the investigation, officers from the Gardena and El Segundo police departments joined forces with the Manhattan Beach officers.
