Bukidnon Bans ‘Ama Namin’ Viral Video Drag Queen as Persona Non Grata

MANILA, Philippines — Bukidnon province has declared Amadeo Fernando Pagente, also known as Pura Luka Vega, persona non grata. The declaration was made after a viral video showed the drag artist performing a rendition of The Lord’s Prayer while wearing a drag costume inspired by the Black Nazarene.

In a resolution released by Bukidnon’s Provincial Board, it was stated that the viral video was not only blasphemous but also offensive, disrespectful, insulting, unacceptable, and outrageous to the Christian religion and belief. The resolution also highlighted that the performance demeaned the sensibilities of Christians.
