Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku was added to the injury report by the team after sustaining burn injuries to his face and arm in a household incident. According to NFL Media, the injuries were caused by a fire pit in Njoku’s backyard.

Despite the injuries, Njoku’s agent confirmed that he is “OK” and expressed gratitude to everyone who reached out. Although listed as questionable, Njoku plans to play and will be active for the AFC North matchup, as reported by CBS Sports NFL Insider Josina Anderson.

On game day, Njoku arrived at Cleveland Browns Stadium wearing a beige mask and coat.

This season, Njoku has recorded 10 catches for 92 yards, providing valuable blocking for the offense. In the previous season, he achieved a career-high of 58 receptions and the second-most yards in his career (628), along with four touchdowns.

If Njoku’s performance is limited in the game, fellow tight ends Jordan Akins and Harrison Bryant will need to step up. Additionally, Cleveland has activated Zaire Mitchell-Paden from its practice squad to provide extra depth at the tight end position.

The Cleveland Browns and the Baltimore Ravens both enter the contest with a 2-1 record, tied for the top spot in the AFC North along with the Pittsburgh Steelers. With the Browns having a bye week in Week 5, Njoku will have time to recover whether he plays or not on Sunday.
