Bronx Day Care Owner’s Husband Apprehended in Mexico – Unveiling a Captivating Twist

In a shocking incident, the husband of the owner of a Bronx day care where a child died due to fentanyl exposure has been arrested. The suspect, Felix Herrera Garcia, had allegedly fled the scene after his wife discovered the lifeless body of the 1-year-old. However, he has now been apprehended while on a bus in Mexico, as reported by CNN. Herrera Garcia is currently in the custody of US Marshals, awaiting extradition back to New York. The day care owner, Grei Mendez, was arrested immediately after the incident, along with Carlisto Acevedo Brito, her husband’s cousin and tenant of the apartment where the day care was situated.

According to ABC News, a third individual, Renny Antonio Parra Paredes, was taken into custody in relation to the case. All four arrested individuals are being accused of being mid-level drug distributors. Furthermore, three other children who attended the day care were hospitalized, and analysis of one of the children’s urine confirmed the presence of fentanyl, a fully synthetic opioid said to be up to a hundred times more potent than morphine, as reported by the BBC. Authorities discovered fentanyl underneath a mat on which the children had been napping. Mendez’s lawyer claims she had no knowledge of drugs being stored in the apartment, but surveillance footage allegedly shows her calling her husband before dialing 911, and her husband was subsequently seen removing bags that authorities believe contained fentanyl from the residence.
