In her memoir The Woman in Me, Britney Spears shares her thoughts on the positive press that Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera received during the 2000s. She specifically mentions their joint cover for Rolling Stone, where Timberlake had “sexy eyes” while looking at Aguilera. The three stars were all part of The All-New Mickey Mouse Club and Timberlake and Aguilera collaborated for the June 2003 issue of Rolling Stone before going on tour together.
Aguilera referred to Spears and Timberlake’s relationship as a great couple and mentioned that there might be a chance for reconciliation between them. Despite their breakup amid rumors of infidelity, Aguilera believed that the two still had a connection. Spears, on the other hand, found Aguilera’s comments confusing given their past comparisons and media feuds. Aguilera had previously described Spears as a lost little girl who needed guidance.
Although they had tension in the past, Spears and Aguilera have since reconciled publicly. Aguilera even showed support for the #FreeBritney movement after Spears’ conservatorship was terminated. Both celebrities have expressed their well-wishes for each other in recent interviews.
Timberlake, however, has chosen to distance himself from the memoir and hasn’t responded publicly to Spears’ revelations. He is focused on his family, career, and moving forward. The Woman in Me will be available in bookstores on Tuesday, October 24.
