Brick apartment complex burglary suspect arrested and charged

A burglary at an apartment complex in Brick resulted in the arrest of a man on Tuesday. According to Brick Township Police, officers responded to the Kentwood Village Apartments on Nov. 14 for a burglary in progress. The victim, who was not home at the time, spotted a man on a security camera inside the apartment and provided a description to the police.

Police quickly arrived at the scene and spotted a male matching the description fleeing the apartment. Patrolman Matt Farnkopf pursued the suspect and managed to apprehend him on Route 70 after a brief foot chase. The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Joshua R. Guarino, was found in possession of women’s clothing and jewelry. Some of the items were claimed by the victim, but police believe there may be more victims.

Guarino faces charges of burglary, theft, obstruction, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, resisting arrest, and interference with transportation. After being processed at Brick Police Headquarters, he was remanded to Ocean County Jail. Anyone with information on Guarino is urged to contact Detective Ryan Talty at 732-262-1170.
