Representatives from the SunLine Transit Agency presented their new transportation option for veterans and their families at Veterans Village in Cathedral City. This beneficial service aims to address limited or no access to transportation among veterans.
The presentation took place at Veterans Village, specifically in the community room located at 30600 Landau Blvd. It started at 10 a.m.
Riverside County Supervisor V. Manuel Perez expressed his support and stated, “This presentation will give veterans an overview of SunRide so they know about it and how to access it.”
Perez, who is also a board member for STA, specifically requested this presentation for veterans residing at Veterans Village. Many veterans were previously unaware of this transportation option.
The SunLine Transit Agency’s board of directors recently expanded the SunRide service, which started operating in May, to include Cathedral City and Desert Hot Springs.
Perez expressed his pride in this expansion, saying, “I am very proud that SunLine Transit Agency has included Veterans Village in the expanded service area for SunRide.”
Veterans Village, a community of veterans, opened in November of last year. It offers 60 apartments and support services such as on-site social workers, case managers, and wraparound services. The SunRide service is the latest addition to the resources available for veterans residing here.
