Breaking News: Mets GM Billy Eppler Resigns Amid MLB Investigation

Billy Eppler resigned as New York Mets’ general manager after Major League Baseball opened an investigation into him, according to a report.

Eppler stepped down from his position with the organization Thursday after three seasons leading the team.

His resignation, while it followed the appointment of David Stearns as President of Baseball Operations, came as somewhat of a surprise.

However, hours after his resignation, it was reported that MLB is investigating Eppler for improper use of the injured list.

According to the New York Post, Eppler decided to resign to avoid being a distraction to the club after MLB informed the Mets of the investigation.
