In a commitment to the highest safety and quality standards, Kraft Heinz, a leading food company, has initiated a voluntary recall of approximately 84,000 cases of processed individually wrapped American cheese slices. The recall is a precautionary measure due to a temporary issue with one of their wrapping machines, which may cause a thin strip of film to remain on the slice after the wrapper has been removed. This film could pose a gagging or choking hazard if not removed.
Kraft Heinz assures consumers that no other products are affected by this recall. The discovery of the issue came after receiving reports from customers who found plastic stuck to a slice, including six incidents of choking or gagging. However, there have been no reports of serious injuries or health issues related to this matter.
Taking swift action, Kraft Heinz has fixed the machine responsible for wrapping the affected slices and thoroughly inspected all other processing machines to prevent any further contamination. Only Kraft Singles American processed cheese slices with the specific case/package information mentioned below are part of the recall; other varieties and sizes are unaffected.
