A B.C. man is missing in Israel, confirmed by the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs on Sunday morning.
Global News received this information through a social media post by King David High School, where Ben Mizrachi, the missing individual, was a former student.
The post read, “Please say extra prayers for King David alumnus, Ben Mizrachi, Class of 2018, who was attending an event in the south and is missing. Please keep Ben and his family in your prayers.”
The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs confirmed the accuracy of the high school’s message and stated that Mizrachi is still missing. The family has requested privacy at this time.
On Sunday, Global News interviewed Olivier Marceau, a resident of Be’er Sheva in southern Israel, approximately 41 kilometers from Gaza. Marceau recounted experiencing rockets landing near his apartment building on Saturday. He described the constant sirens and the need to take shelter, seeing rockets hitting nearby and the ensuing smoke.
Marceau also expressed concerns about kidnapping and mentioned acquaintances who have been killed or are missing. The situation has left him feeling scared and unsure of what to expect.
