Bravo’s ‘Wifetime’ Achievement Award Celebrates Vicki Gunvalson: Expressing Gratitude to All Fans

The Reality Television Star Vicki Gunvalson Receives the First-Ever ‘Wifetime’ Achievement Award at BravoCon 2023

Vicki Gunvalson, the beloved alum of The Real Housewives of Orange County, has a new reason to celebrate. The television personality was honored on Friday at BravoCon 2023 with the inaugural ‘Wifetime’ Achievement Award, recognizing her incredible 18-year journey on the network. The award was presented to Gunvalson during The Bravos, a parody awards show hosted by the infamous Andy Cohen. The surprise presentation was made even more special when Gunvalson’s former RHOC co-stars Jo De La Rosa, Lauri Peterson, Alexis Bellino, and Gretchen Rossi took the stage to present her with the prestigious trophy.

Taking the stage to a thunderous standing ovation from a crowd filled with Bravolebrity peers, Gunvalson was visibly moved as she accepted her trophy. Holding back tears, she expressed her gratitude, stating, “If you watched season 1, as Lauri reminded me, I was like, ‘I don’t want to get old’ — but here we are getting old together.” Gunvalson then thanked her loyal fans, cast members, and the creators of the franchise, Andy Cohen and Scott Dunlop, who she credits with seeing something in her that she didn’t see in herself.

In true Vicki Gunvalson fashion, she quoted some of her infamous lines before surprising Cohen with a playful gesture. She pulled an orange out of her sleeve, a nod to the iconic orange that symbolizes the main cast members on RHOC, and handed it to Cohen, jokingly saying, “And Andy, for you — here’s my orange, should you need to give it to anyone.”

This recognition from BravoCon comes as no surprise, as Cohen revealed Gunvalson’s honor during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live alongside Tamra Judge and Shannon Storms Beador in September. He described the honoree as someone who embodies the spirit of Housewives, willing to be transparent, authentic, and have fun while doing so. Gunvalson expressed her gratitude and emotions during the aftershow, describing her love for the Real Housewives family.

Gunvalson has been a prominent figure on RHOC since its debut in 2006. While she transitioned into a reduced role in recent seasons, she announced her departure from the show in January 2020. In an Instagram post, she bid farewell to her fans, declaring herself the OG of the OC. Since then, Gunvalson has made guest appearances on the show, as well as participating in The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Ex-Wives Club.

BravoCon 2023 is an ongoing event taking place at Caesars Forum in Las Vegas, where fans and Bravolebrities come together to celebrate the reality TV phenomenon that has captivated audiences for years.
