MANILA, Philippines — The administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is aiming to eliminate communist terrorist groups (CTGs) in Northern Samar by the end of this year.
During his visit to Camp Juan Ponce in Sumuroy, Northern Samar on Friday, July 14, Marcos was briefed on the military’s progress in dismantling CTGs in the province.
In a speech, the President expressed optimism about the military’s efforts, stating, “we will have dismantled all of the communist terrorist groups (CTG) fronts by the end of the year and that is the result of your good work.”
He further added, “From the progress being made in Northern Samar, we are looking forward to declaring that province clear of CTGs by the end of the year.”

Marcos eagerly awaits his next visit to Northern Samar to officially declare the province free from all forms of insurgencies. However, he advised the 803rd Infantry Brigade to remain cautious as dangers still exist on the frontline.
He emphasized his administration’s commitment to provide the military with necessary tools, equipment, and training, and assured that the modernization of the Armed Forces of the Philippines will continue under his leadership.
