Big Changes Coming to Evernote’s Free Plan – Learn More Now!

Evernote’s free plan will be limiting new and existing users to just 50 notes and one notebook as of December 4th, according to the company’s blog post on Wednesday. This change, which Evernote had been testing, may require free users with a high note volume to upgrade to a paid plan or switch to a different note-taking platform.

Evernote states that if current free users exceed the limit, they can still “view, edit, export, share, and delete existing notes and notebooks.” However, it appears that creating new notes or notebooks will require deleting existing ones to comply with the new restrictions. We have reached out to Evernote for confirmation on this.

In its blog post, Evernote argues that the changes won’t affect most users, as “the majority of our Free users fall below the threshold of fifty notes and one notebook.” However, given that free users currently have the ability to keep up to 100,000 notes and 250 notebooks, heavy users of the free version may encounter immediate limitations come December 4th.
