The Global Day of Jihad didn’t live up to its apocalyptic promise on Friday.
However, if it had, the FBI would not have been of much assistance. Why? Because it is currently preoccupied with an exaggerated domestic terrorism crisis that portrays conservatives as the villains, labeling the Jan. 6 Capitol riot as a terrorist attack worse than 9/11.
President Joe Biden uses this “ultra-MAGA-semi-fascist” threat to further divide the country and justify his actions, such as indicting his main political rival, imprisoning Trump supporters, and implementing an Orwellian level of mass surveillance, censorship, and ideological indoctrination among Americans.
A chilling documentary titled “The Police State,” created by conservative filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza, highlights the creation of a police state in America. This alarming film will be released next week in New York and theaters across the country.
D’Souza argues that America is at risk of becoming like China or North Korea, with an opaque and woke version of an authoritarian regime. A recent Rasmussen poll shows that over two-thirds of Americans agree with this sentiment.
As former Trump speechwriter Darren Beattie states in the film, “We’re becoming China plus drag queens. [It’s a] hyper-ideological version of the police state that’s animated by wokeness . . . the worst of all worlds.”
A Totalitarian Shift
The film opens with an aerial shot of a serene American suburb, zooming into a house where a family is praying before a meal. Suddenly, an FBI SWAT team bursts in, causing the children to scream as their father is arrested. Although this scene is a recreation with actors, it reflects the growing reality of conservatives being targeted by the FBI, including Trump supporters, pro-life activists, parents protesting at school board meetings, and Catholics who attend Latin Mass.
Newsweek recently reported that the FBI has “quietly created a new category of extremists that it seeks to track and counter: Donald Trump’s army of MAGA followers ahead of the 2024 election.” The majority of the FBI’s current “anti-government” investigations are focused on Trump supporters, as per classified data obtained by Newsweek.
By focusing on Trump supporters, the FBI risks provoking the very anti-government activists it hopes to counter. This may be intentional, especially considering its relevance to the Biden campaign.
In October 2022, the FBI established a new subcategory of threat called “AGAAVE-Other,” which officially refers to “domestic violent extremists who cite anti-government or anti-authority motivations for violence or criminal activity not otherwise defined.” Although Trump and MAGA are not explicitly mentioned, government insiders confirm that it applies to political violence associated with the former president’s supporters.
Quoting an anonymous FBI officer, Newsweek states, “Obviously if Democratic Party supporters resort to violence, it [AGAAVE-Other] would apply to them as well. It doesn’t matter that there is a low likelihood of that.”
Former FBI agent-turned-whistleblower Steve Friend reveals in the film that the bureau artificially inflated domestic terrorism statistics after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. Single cases were split into multiple files for the first time, allowing FBI agents to claim supervisory roles and boost their careers.
Friend explains to D’Souza, “Our elected officials have characterized Jan. 6 as the worst event that happened in the history of the country since the Civil War. Anyone with any ambition of promotion in the FBI is going to be tempted to get their hooks into Jan. 6 to claim that they had some sort of supervising or managerial responsibility . . . and the individuals in charge of all the field offices around the country are receiving compensation in the area of $30,000 to $50,000 because their offices were successfully opening the adequate number of domestic terrorism cases . . .”
He adds, “In this country, we are very fortunate that domestic terrorism is not a significant threat. The demand for domestic terrorism among our elected officials and elite vastly outstrips the supply. [So] you manipulate the statistics to make yourself look good and get your commissions up.”
Revealing the Human Toll
The film becomes truly heartbreaking when D’Souza interviews victims of this oppressive regime, which seems more focused on investigating pre-crime and silencing dissent than on punishing the guilty or protecting the innocent.
One mother tearfully describes how the FBI broke down her front door after labeling her a domestic terrorist for raising concerns about her children being exposed to explicit content in sex-ed classes at a school board meeting. She also voiced objections to the administration of COVID vaccines without parental consent.
An aunt shares her anguish over her gentle and law-abiding nephew, who committed suicide out of fear of receiving draconian felony terrorism enhancements for his misdemeanor charges related to the Jan. 6 Capitol incident. He had entered through an open door, stayed within the designated area for 14 minutes, and caused no harm.
The film also features Joseph Bolanos, who was falsely accused of involvement in the Jan. 6 riot and initially shared his story with The Post in 2021. At 71 years old, he was a respected community figure and the president of his Upper West Side block association for 23 years. However, his life was shattered when armed agents from an FBI anti-terrorism task force raided his home in February 2021. He was handcuffed, paraded in front of his neighbors while wearing only his longjohns, and detained for three hours while his apartment was searched.
As Bolanos recalls, the emotional stress following the raid led to two strokes, the difficulty of finding legal representation, and the pain of being shunned by neighbors whom he once considered friends. He tearfully questions, “When you’re innocent, who do you go to? I’m an American citizen. I have no reason to be attacked.”
