Taylor Swift shared a heartwarming moment with Bianka Bryant during her performance on Thursday.
As part of her Eras Tour, Swift has made it a tradition to give her black bowler hat to a lucky fan while singing her hit single “22.”
During the start of her six-show run at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, Swift bestowed her hat upon Bianka, the second-youngest daughter of Vanessa and Kobe Bryant.
Swift took a moment to embrace the 6-year-old before continuing the song. Vanessa expressed her love for Taylor Swift by sharing a photo of their embrace on Instagram.
This is not the first time Swift has had a connection with the Bryant family. In 2015, she shared the stage with Kobe during her 1989 Tour.
Kobe surprised Swift at LA’s Staples Center (now known as Crypto.com Arena) by presenting her with a championship banner to commemorate her 16 sold-out shows at the venue. Kobe himself had a history with the arena as a shooting guard for the Los Angeles Lakers.
In a 2019 interview on “The Jordan Harbinger Show,” Kobe spoke highly of Swift and the importance of listening to people who achieve greatness. Tragically, Kobe passed away in 2020 along with his daughter Gigi and seven others in a helicopter crash.
In his last interview with LA Times sports columnist Arash Markazi, Kobe expressed his love for his daughters, including Bianka, whom he affectionately called B.B. Vanessa referred to him as the “MVP of girl dads.”
During the Eras Tour, Vanessa honored Kobe by wearing a bedazzled jacket featuring a photo of Swift and Kobe onstage together.
