Scaling Scotland’s Greatest Mountain: Testing Berghaus’ New Range to the Ultimate Limit

After a challenging climb, we finally reached the ridge line of one of Scotland’s most magnificent mountains. With the wind howling and the clouds closing in, it was essential to prepare quickly for the harsh conditions. I swiftly retrieved my Berghaus Deluge Pro 2.0 jacket from my pack and put it on as the rain began to fall.

Our objective was to successfully traverse the ridge as the cloud engulfed us. The sleek and lightweight design of the Berghaus Deluge Pro 2.0, weighing only 340g, effortlessly shielded us from the elements. It’s worth noting that this jacket is made from 50% recycled materials, reflecting Berghaus’ commitment to sustainability.

The jacket fit snugly, preventing any billowing in the wind, and comfortably accommodated multiple layers. With its 2-layer hydroshell, it provided exceptional waterproof protection against nature’s forces.

I also chose the versatile Berghaus MTN Seeker 32L hiking pack, suitable for both the frosty slopes of Everest and the bustling streets of London. This pack proves to be an ideal companion for ski-touring, mountain climbing, and traversing remote trails. It offers various mountain essentials such as a dedicated rope lashing, hiking pole or ice axe holsters, a mesh helmet holder, and a hydration pouch capable of holding a 3L water pack. Additionally, its external TPU coating enhances durability and water resistance. The goji berry red color adds a touch of style to its functionality.

During my extensive four-day hiking adventure in the Highlands, the Berghaus MTN Seeker 32L endured wear and tear without a scratch, proving its resilience and durability. This pack can withstand the toughest conditions and guarantee the safety of your belongings.

What sets this bag apart from others, like my Osprey pack, is its thoughtful design. It avoids the issues of flimsy zippers and undersized pockets, providing ample storage for all your gear during multi-day hikes. Weighing in at a reasonable 870g, it won’t weigh you down.

As we descended from the two munros, the wind began to calm and the rain subsided. Our exhilarating day had come to an end, and I couldn’t be happier with the performance of my new equipment.

Now, it’s time to celebrate with a well-deserved pint.

Berghaus Unisex MTN Seeker 32: Rating 5/5. Price: £170
Deluge Pro 2.0 Jacket: Rating 4/5. Price: £110
