Bambos Charalambous, Labour shadow minister, suspended following misconduct complaint

A Labour shadow minister has been suspended by the party following a complaint regarding his alleged behavior. Bambos Charalambous, the shadow Foreign Office minister and MP for Enfield Southgate, is currently under investigation by Labour’s independent complaints process. As a result, he has had his whip removed and has been temporarily suspended by the party.

Mr. Charalambous has stated that he will fully cooperate with the review process and has tweeted, “It is right and proper that the process is allowed to take place. I will cooperate fully and play my part. It is not appropriate to comment further at this time.”

The MP has been approached for further comment.

This development follows the recent suspension of MP Geraint Davies by the party, who faced allegations of sexual harassment from multiple women. Labour’s new complaints process, which was approved at the party conference last year, covers all protected characteristics and forms of discrimination, including race, disability, and sexuality.
